kulula is gearing up for the World Cup with a burst of activity. First off the latest design for one of their new 737-800’s went supernova on the blogosphere (before the plane even touched down in South Africa). The story pretty much sold itself (but we were responsible for seeding it with some key bloggers). Coverage included some of the world’s biggest blogs including Boing Boing (which crashed local blogger Chris Rawlinson’s site when it linked to him) and Gizmodo. We then started getting calls from publications all over the world including The Sun, Daily Mail and Metro newspapers in the UK.
If that wasn’t enough then kulula launched a challenge to local airlines to cut their prices during the world cup which got spectacular pick-up in the local press.
