It's possible you may have seen two outlandish Mayans wandering around South Africa armed with a ghetto blaster. They were created by Atmosphere to draw attention to a party client J&B is throwing Mexico later this month. The idea is that consumers see them out and about in nightclubs/bars and events and make the connection with the ATL ads for the event. They've created plenty of buzz online interacting with bloggers and other online noisemakers. Read More

We recently helped our client, Chevron South Africa, launch a newly refurbished and fully stocked library and learning centre at the Inkwenkwezi Secondary School in Du Noon. The library was officially opened by the Minister of Basic Education, Mrs. Angie Motshekga, MP on 26 October 2010. The library upgrade, as well as the appointment of a full time librarian and an assistant to manage the facility, was funded by Chevron South Africa as part of its Energy for Learning programme. This is ... Read More

A rather splendid little video put together to show off our integrated campaign with King James for kulula during that big sporting event earlier in the year. It won a Gold Loerie and we believe shows what happens when there is a level creative playing field amongst disciplines to come up with ideas. Probably the most fun we had in 2010...

Atmosphere has been in party mode this week after picking up three Loeries at last weekend's awards. Despite being a PR agency in a sea of Ad agencies we took home a Bronze for kulula's world cup print ads (not PR i know but we helped conceive some of them specifically to get media coverage), a Bronze for ghd revelations (personally im really proud of this one as it was creatively led by Atmosphere) and a gold for mixed media again for ... This month we launched SA’s first art advisory service, by Sanlam Private Investments (SPI), at the trendy Circa on Jellicoe art gallery in Rosebank. Art fundis and journalists gathered to hear more about this service, that will help aspiring and current art collectors build up a valuable art collection, by giving advice on buying and selling art, and managing an art collection to best preserve its value. Speaking at the launch, Sanlam’s art curator Stefan Hundt said that with the right advice ... Read More

We've recently started working with two well known whisky brands (with very different audiences) from brandhouse. Bell's and J&B join Bushmills Irish Whiskey to ensure our bar is very well-stocked indeed. Just for some variety we're also starting work on Roodeberg this month a great blend with tons of stories behind it from KWV. We'll be working on both a local PR brief and a global social media one with our social media team +one.
There is some fun ideas from all the ... Read More

We've just launched a new campaign for Sanlam to highlight the dangers of not planning properly for retirement. Based primarily on Facebook it follows the (fictional) lives of celebs Loyiso Bala and Jeannie D; one of them saved and one of them didn't. To launch the campaign we arranged a photo shoot with both of the celebs and using make-up and a little digital re-touching aged them by 40 years. Have a look at the video for more on the campaign and ... Read More

The standard way to launch a wine brand is to invite journalists to a stuffy wine bar, swirl some glasses around and talk about terroir... very seriously (yawn). Luckily Fairview wanted something different for the launch of their latest adventure in wine La Capra. Our solution was a Victorian-era styled gypsy caravan complete with vaudeville three piece band and Bridget Back (daughter of the famous Charles Back) dressed up as a fortune teller.
We invited media to come and experience the new wine ... Read More
