la-capra-team

The standard way to launch a wine brand is to invite journalists to a stuffy wine bar, swirl some glasses around and talk about terroir... very seriously (yawn). Luckily Fairview wanted something different for the launch of their latest adventure in wine La Capra. Our solution was a Victorian-era styled gypsy caravan complete with vaudeville three piece band and Bridget Back (daughter of the famous Charles Back) dressed up as a fortune teller. We  invited media to come and experience the new wine ... Read More

kulula haven't exactly been wallflowers during the World Cup (just how we like our clients). Our latest adventure with them saw us flying a young Boston Terrier called Sepp Blatter around South Africa for free (see the release below for the reason why). Sepp was such a hit with kulula they have temporarily donated their Facebook page to him. The young dog has made many friends during his 15 minutes of fame largely helped by media coverage in most South African dailies ... Read More

spf-speed-dating-3

Atmosphere arranged a fun speed-dating event, at Sinn’s in Wembley Square, for our Sanlam Personal Finance spokespeople and selected journalists to interact and get to know each other better. Time constraints kept the pace up as the speed-daters hurriedly gathered as much information as possible about their partner before they had to move on. The one-on-one sessions were designed to build direct relationships between the media and Sanlam spokespeople in a useful and memorable way. Read More

kulula

Ok so this was an April Fools joke. But believe it or not kulula's attempt to trademark the sky did have a few people going for a while. The announcement came the week after kulula made headlines around the world for its cheeky new advertising campaign and the subsequent unamused reaction from FIFA. For April Fools we issued a release claiming to have trademarked the sky between 10000 ft and 35000 ft. We also produced a handy PDF guide to the trademark ... Read More

the-star

It was a three-month clandestine operation. We were sworn to total secrecy and anyone mentioning the word “internet” was threatened with instant decapitation. But finally we were allowed to reveal the big news from our longest-standing client, MWEB, late last week. And it was worth the wait. MWEB, with backing from its parent company, Naspers announced the launch of the cheapest, unlimited internet access in South Africa. The move, which surprised the market, meant that South Africans are a step closer to being ... Read More

kulula launches new planes and a challenge to rivals

kulula_flying_101_03

kulula is gearing up for the World Cup with a burst of activity. First off the latest design for one of their new 737-800's went supernova on the blogosphere (before the plane even touched down in South Africa). The story pretty much sold itself (but we were responsible for seeding it with some key bloggers). Coverage included some of the world's biggest blogs including Boing Boing (which crashed local blogger Chris Rawlinson's site when it linked to him) and Gizmodo. We then ... Read More
