Atmosphere recently created a Parisian street cafe, Le Budget Cafe, in the heart of Cape Town for Capitec Bank.. However instead of serving lunch the cafe is unique spot for CBD workers to take their packed lunch to (an alternative to buying expensive sandwiches and sitting at their desks). The cafe is staffed by a larger than life Maitre d' and french musicians and also has a special in conversation starters and money saving tips.
It's all part of our ongoing Live Free ... Read More

The V&A Waterfront, Africa’s most visited tourist destination, recently launched the first temporary outdoor ice rink in the country. As one of Atmosphere’s long standing clients, we assisted with the media launch to announce this unique offering.
An exclusive cocktail party, hosted inside a marquee tent featuring the 200m² ice rink marked the beginning of a very successful festive season at the V&A Waterfront. Guests were entertained by talented members of the Western Province figure skating team, capturing the imagination of young ... Read More

Our last campaign launch for the year and something we've been working on for at least 6 months to develop is Live Free. It's an ongoing project to encourage South African's to enjoy the simple and free things in life. It's first incarnation was a Sandcastle Construction Crew - designed to celebrate the (pretty much) free delights of hanging out on our country's lovely beaches. Check out the Capitec Bank Facebook Page for more information and keep an eye out in February ... Read More

Our social media team +one recently launched the new coffee flavour for Steri Stumpie with an oddball keynote speech (that may have had a certain resemblance to the style of a global technology company). Bloggers and fans were invited to a special event at The Labia cinema in Cape Town where they could learn about the new flavour. Check out www.steristumpie.com for more on the launch.

It's possible you may have seen two outlandish Mayans wandering around South Africa armed with a ghetto blaster. They were created by Atmosphere to draw attention to a party client J&B is throwing Mexico later this month. The idea is that consumers see them out and about in nightclubs/bars and events and make the connection with the ATL ads for the event. They've created plenty of buzz online interacting with bloggers and other online noisemakers. Read More

A rather splendid little video put together to show off our integrated campaign with King James for kulula during that big sporting event earlier in the year. It won a Gold Loerie and we believe shows what happens when there is a level creative playing field amongst disciplines to come up with ideas. Probably the most fun we had in 2010...

We've just launched a new campaign for Sanlam to highlight the dangers of not planning properly for retirement. Based primarily on Facebook it follows the (fictional) lives of celebs Loyiso Bala and Jeannie D; one of them saved and one of them didn't. To launch the campaign we arranged a photo shoot with both of the celebs and using make-up and a little digital re-touching aged them by 40 years. Have a look at the video for more on the campaign and ... Read More

The standard way to launch a wine brand is to invite journalists to a stuffy wine bar, swirl some glasses around and talk about terroir... very seriously (yawn). Luckily Fairview wanted something different for the launch of their latest adventure in wine La Capra. Our solution was a Victorian-era styled gypsy caravan complete with vaudeville three piece band and Bridget Back (daughter of the famous Charles Back) dressed up as a fortune teller.
We invited media to come and experience the new wine ... Read More

kulula haven't exactly been wallflowers during the World Cup (just how we like our clients). Our latest adventure with them saw us flying a young Boston Terrier called Sepp Blatter around South Africa for free (see the release below for the reason why). Sepp was such a hit with kulula they have temporarily donated their Facebook page to him. The young dog has made many friends during his 15 minutes of fame largely helped by media coverage in most South African dailies ... Read More

We launched Virgin Active's Fans In Training classes recently with a photo call with Sir Richard Branson himself at the Sandton Virgin Active. He joined in a streaker training class (while he was fully clothed the rest of the participants were draped in strategically placed flags) and was given a lesson in vuvuzela playing by two characters called TK & Vusi.
