We've just been appointed to launch the SLOW lounges in Cape Town, Joburg and Durban airports. The domestic lounges, launched by Comair (who operate British Airways in SA as well as kulula), are beautifully designed spaces created to make the journey as much of an experience as the destination. Facilities include a spa (in Cape Town), private meeting rooms, in-house chef, Nintendo games room and interior design crafted by Tonic. Over the next few months we'll be getting the word out to ... kulula is gearing up for the World Cup with a burst of activity. First off the latest design for one of their new 737-800's went supernova on the blogosphere (before the plane even touched down in South Africa). The story pretty much sold itself (but we were responsible for seeding it with some key bloggers). Coverage included some of the world's biggest blogs including Boing Boing (which crashed local blogger Chris Rawlinson's site when it linked to him) and Gizmodo. We then ... Read More

Atmosphere recently launched the Kulula beach index for kulula.com. We worked with a freelance economist to figure out the cheapest beach destinations in South Africa - just in time for the summer holiday season. To get the figures we looked at the price of fish & chips amongst other typical holiday costs for a family of four. Stillbaai in the Western Cape came out as the cheapest and Camps Bay in Cape Town (maybe not surpisingly) came out as most expensive. The ... Read More

Our client, Sanlam Private Investments (SPI), turned 10-years-old in 2009 and Atmosphere suggested that it launch an Innovation Awards campaign among students to celebrate this milestone. We chose to run them in creative fields which would appeal to SPI’s high net worth clients who have a passion for the finer things in life (interior design, culinary arts, jewellery design and fashion design are examples). We set to work finding the crème de la crème of educational institutions in these categories and challenged ... Read More
